On February 10th, NMUNA was honored to meet with the UN Senior Delegation at the United World College in Mostar. The delegation was lead by Mr. Adama Dieng, the UN Special Advisor of Secretary- General on the Prevention of Genocide and former Assistant of Secretary- General. In an answer to Mr. Obaid’s question in regards of the Halabja and Anfal against Kurds, Mr. Dieng reaffirmed the brutality of the incidents and stressed the importance of taking such events as a harsh lesson of the cruelty of war. Mr. Dieng also mentioned his role in organizing a gallery to showcase Halbaja at the UN’s meeting in Vienna in 1993. Mr. Dieng extended his wishes to the family of victims and stressed the importance of youth in sustainable development to prevent such crude acts from happening.
